Give us some details about you and your story.
In the last 12 years, I’ve merged cultures from the various metropolitan areas
in which I’ve resided – Lagos, New York, and Washington DC. Inspired by artists
such as Fela Kuti, Bob Marley, Afrojack, Tiesto and Michael Jackson. I
consistently strive to appeal to a wide range of music lovers and I have no
limits or bounds as far as my musicality is concerned.
I am the recipient of the 2011 NPA DJ of the Year, AllStar Best EDM DJ 2017, #2 On AllStar Top 100 DJs 2017, 1st Runner UP All Star International DJ 2017, was nominated AllStar Rising star & EDM DJ 2016, Nominee Best Afrobeats Miami DJ 2016.
I love music; and making a difference between a good event and an unforgettable experience.
Has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha. It has not been easy but honestly, every challenge has been motivation to either be better or work harder. One of my major challenges would be balance. One night I am charging up a crowd, and the very next minute I am trying to figure out how to juggle multiple events in different cities. To sum it up, the obstacles I’ve encountered over the years has made this an interesting journey and I am proud of being able to prove naysayers wrong 🙂 which is standard (naysayers that is) with anyone starting a business especially in this industry (wedding /entertainment).
Please tell us more about Don X.
I love music. I like making the audience on the dance floor happy and forgetting everything apart from how much fun they are having in that moment.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Oh yeah. I’d say the first time I saw a DJ spin was at a birthday party in my preteen years. Without realizing this at the time, the DJ spinning left a lasting impression in my subconscious. Unfortunately I don’t recall what his name.
I want shout out to all the djs that have inspired me and every bedroom DJ right now working on their craft. Don’t give up!!
